    • Ricky Gervais is the most funny comedian to have ever lived but he does not have the verbal capacity to deliver the jokes

    • All spiders are venomous but where i live the creature called daddy long legs are not spiders or even arachnids. They also do not possess venom

    • @The Infidel get destroyed? I never said they were the most venomous... i didn't even say the crane fly was venomous. So what's your point?

      PooliganPooligan3 dagen geleden
    • get destroyed ...venomous maybe but not THE MOST VENOMOUS Misconceptions There is an enduring urban legend that crane flies are the most venomous insects in the world, but have no ability to administer the venom; this is not true.[24] The myth likely arose due to their being confused with the cellar spider as they are also informally called "daddy longlegs", and although the spider does possess venom, it is not especially potent.[25] Despite widely held beliefs that adult crane flies (or "mosquito hawks") prey on mosquito populations, the adult crane fly is anatomically incapable of killing or consuming other insects.[26] Although the adults of some species may feed on nectar, the adults of many species have such short lifespans that they do not eat at all.[12]

    • www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fevo.2019.00256/full So The daddy long-legs spider is venemous, but the daddy longlegs cranefly is not. Figured i'd clear that up since just "daddy long-legs" is a name for multiple creatures.

  • I love this, but almost all of the spider stuff is wrong. Also, there are gay spiders.

  • Actually it's a misconception that the daddy long legs has the strongest poison to man, the legend probably comes from the fact that daddy long legs can kill spiders that are deadly to humans such as the redback , so the assumption is that if the daddy long legs can kill spiders with venom so deadly to humans it must have the deadliest venom. But the daddy long legs can kill those spiders because it can cast long stretches of silk onto it's pray from a safe distance thus incapacitating it's pray. A little bit of knowledge for all of you.

  • He's making the mistake combining two different creatures that share a common name in some parts of the world. The "daddy longlegs" with the venom is a harvestman (a type of arachnid, but not a spider) and it cannot fly. The "daddy longlegs" that can fly is the cranefly (Tipulidae family, the true flies), and it has no venom at all. He's merging the two creatures.

    EarthKnightEarthKnight7 dagen geleden
    • Except Opiliones (harvestman) don't have venom. There's actually a third kind you english fellas call daddy longlegs : the Pholcus, or skull spider. This one actually is a spider, but its venom is pretty weak to humans, and it almost never bites us anyway.

  • Love Ricky, but that thing about the Daddy Long Legs having powerful venom is a myth! So that kind of blows the whole point of the joke.

    • @John Sylvester really, daddy long legs weren't a punchline? Wonder what all the laughing was for then.

      Ise RiverIse River5 dagen geleden
    • @Richard Flynn that's another misconception about the daddy long leg they can bite.

      John SylvesterJohn Sylvester5 dagen geleden
    • @Ise River because Ricky knows that god is a myth, god being a myth was kinda the punchline of the joke while the daddy long leg part wasn't a joke or punchline.

      John SylvesterJohn Sylvester5 dagen geleden
    • @Ise River Nope.

      Ray WolffRay Wolff7 dagen geleden
    • God's a myth and yet you haven't complained about that part of the joke.
