I think she's just your plaything haha!!
Does anyone honestly look up to the US any more ?
Not sure you should be so smug about not importing slaves since you enslaved and killed the aboriginal people, who are still suffering.
Well, at least the signer was funny.
wait, I'm confused. Isn't Asia primarily in the northern hemishpere and Australia in the Southern? How is that "near"?
It's nearest if you're in Oz. Not counting the penguins
And noooow, China has won.😆😂😂😓

That girl sings WELL!
Q: What borders on stupidity? A: Canada and Mexico.
Of course you didn't bring slaves into Austrailia. You used the indigenous people that were already there. What a dumpster of a human to crack a joke against Americans Austrailia has slavery as well.
he did slightly mention that in the joke?
Hey guys, there's a good bit of stand up comedy in your advert.
Give that girl a record contract. She's not bad.
Fair Bloody Dinkum, Adam Hills would be one of the best comedians in the world.
Omg I have to say I'm ginger and I own a house in the amazon... but live in the uk...
I wonder about the people who chose an anthem with a note that most people couldn't possibly nail.
Singing anthem wherever you go is the most white American thing ever (Afro-American as well but more associated with the white)
This is the first time I've seen an ASL translator for a comedian ♡
Kerry has a lovely voice!
Asians have been in Australia for thousands of years.
I’m passing middle age now, but I’m immature and laugh at adolescent humor. Funniest part was when he focused on the translator. Definitely passing this on to my deaf neighbor and high school friend who’s a translator and married to a deaf woman.
The sign language interpreter and Carey from Kansas were the real stars of the show...
Oh, but you hit straight on it. Liberals think everyone must think like them or your are not diverse. I know, that is ironic. But you see, they don't get the irony. They aren't really bright, they just regurgitated what they were told in school. They haven't thought for years. They let CNN and Hollywood do that for them.
STFU!!
what a sweetheart /-and what a voice
Love this bloke. So absolutely funny and some very good points but I cannot believe that the Woke agenda, BLM and SJW idiot fanatics don’t cancel him. He missed a great joke opportunity regarding Kansas.... tornadoes, Dorothy, toto and the wizard of oz. However in fact huge numbers of usamericans do not know the words to their anthem anymore.
Well having only one leg he counts as disabled, so they would seem churlish if they did.
American kids get patriotism forced into them from a young age 😭
It's not forced if you like it.
He's pretty funny, but it's a bit ironic that he rags on the US comic for doing an outdated Asian accent, then proceeds to do a stereotypical ebonic accent for black people and reference a quip from a 40+ year old sit com.
@Deanna Dreffs Who said anything about it always being the case, of course there are some racist comedians, he is making fun of one in the bit you are taking issue with. He is very clearly making an ironic reference when using the stereotypical black and Chinese accents. The fact you have an abysmal president says more about the entrenched political views of your country than it's ability to understand irony.
@Das Schaf I live in a country that elected a president for his supposed business acumen, even though he filed for bankruptcy numerous times and could have made more money if he had just kept his inheritance in a savings account that accrued interest....so yes, I understand irony. Having said that, I also understand that a lot of comics (and people, in general) are quick to point out other people's transgressions, while commiting the same themselves. And I think you give too much credit by assuming it's always irony. Also, maybe I don't want to hear some overly used, stereotypical accent that generalizes black Americans at this particular moment in time.
You are not the brightest spark.
Is irony a totally foreign concept in the US ? It is very present in British/Commonwealth/former colonies humour, also the reason why the chinese woman character at the end uses it, as an ironic recall to the American comedian joke.
Whoosh 🤣 Yeah, the irony was deliberate because *that was the joke!* Deliberate irony is funny to a lot of people, including myself.
Does anyone look up to America?!
I'm with Pratchett in thinking that anyone who knows more than one verse of their national anthem is either up to something, or a politician (ie up to something)
I'm Aussie and that's how I walk 😅😅😅 The sign language lady--she's sooo good 😅😅😅
Aussies on planes looking for spiders out of reflex
Shouldn't people be standing through national anthems?
suhailyarkhan Only when it’s theirs.
Ask most of us Aussies to sing our anthem and almost all of us will be able butcher the first verse then stop not knowing there's others.
I think the audience should have stood. She was so sweet to go along with it.
Bloozegirl Hansen WTF, definitely not, not their anthem.
The sign language is awesome! 😅
Does anybody look up to America any more?
Did anybody ever?
Impressive someone can be a joke and not funny simultaneously. AFV host.
Have you ever noticed how Australians walk like this, and Americans walk like this? Really? In 2020?
@2660016A no existential crisis here. Just can't believe such hackneyed, unoriginal and dumb (as in it's not even based on a real observation) material is being rolled out by a 'top' comedian. The guy used to be clever and funny, a long time ago. Still, explains the popularity of Michael McIntyre I suppose...
Yep. A large majority of us can still take a joke without having an existential crisis. The thing about humour is, it’s a series of words designed with the sole intention of inducing laughter and doesn’t have to bear any resemblance to actual views, opinions or intentions in reality. For that reason, combined with an ability to not take myself too seriously, I often find banter aimed at me about my nationality amusing and will fire back, resulting in an fun exchange with no tears or safe spaces required.
Waiting for his jokes, some low hanging fruit being picked there.
The audience must not know who Richard Simmons is.
Unfortunately I was thinking Russell Simmons, of Def Jam Recordings 🤣🤣🤣
She was excellent. Takes a lot of confidence to pull that off. She nailed it.
lmao I think if I got pulled to do that at 19 I might literally rather have killed myself😂
Funny but Shame he does not know about Australia’s importation of “ black slaves” from Melanesia and Micronesia to work the sugar plantations. If you are going to call other countries ignorant you should know more about your own country’s cruel past.
I never knew the U.S. national anthem glorified war and justified murder of the immocent.
@Mark Fryer It was a poem written during the War of 1812.
It was composed to reflect the victory in the Revolutionary War against Britain.
this is the first time ive heard the american national anthem which is not what i was expecting from this skit lmao
I keep having to rewind this because I keep missing the jokes because I’m laughing to much. As much as the translator (of whom I feel extremely sorry and I hope she was warned) it was Aussies at the airport I love the most!
Karri from Kansas is cute
That interpreter needs a raise that was great
Missed the opportunity to get an Aussie up there to sing the national anthem. Who knows the second verse?
I like our second verse better than the first because it emphasizes the fact that we're trying to promote ourselves as a multicultural nation (at least we were). "Beneath our radiant Southern Cross We'll toil with hearts and hands To make this Commonwealth of ours Renowned to the lands. For those who've come across the seas We've boundless plains to share. With courage let us all combine To Advance Australia fair. In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Australia fair."
The EU is already the worlds largest economy.
The EU is a continent not a country
Australia was started by prisoners and slaves
it is not the largest economy. EU is.
She did alright with the anthem... until she "Whitney Houston-ed" that extended note!
i love how he includes the signing lady. making deafness and any other disability an everyday thing which it is, instead of being a taboo, elephant in the corner of which we must never speak.
The translator is the funniest person on stage.
I'm guessing Chelsea Handler.
Correct
I’m from USA, and I cannot sing at all. I would have just knelt and put my fist in the air.
Gold!
He knows more of the anthem then me😂
ok
This is double fun. Sign language alone is a set by itself. Brilliant !
he's just not that funny, That whiney voice doesn't help him.
anti-woke comedy
brilliabt
The translator needs her own stand up hour
The last three words of the 'merican national anthem? let's play ball!
I love the look on her face when she signs "Spinster's Minge" ROFLMAO
This poor man has never traveled for more than a month in the US or he's pandering. Glad he makes people smile but he could have been more... Good on him though no matter what. In America, if one succeeds we all succeed, even a passerby who is only inspired.
That time when all eyes were on the translator
Also, I love the fact that he doesn't name the American comedian in Ireland but you can CLEARLY tell from the impression that it's Reginald D Hunter. XD
jeez i really wanna know who is the comedian he is talking about
Hana Kamilia binti Danial I think it might be Chelsea Handler. He’s talked about being on her show before.
Ooooh that was close, I'm allowed to do this 😂
God i love that he brings the translator into the jokes and not just forgetting about it at the side like the she doesn't exist. Also its incredibly funny 🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂
I love the signers at comedy shows. Donald Glover has a great story in his act about one of his signers.
Of course I sang along with it, but he messed up the words.
You can see how she looks at him any time he messes up
The obvious joke he could have gone on with after Carrie from Kansas nailed their anthem, was to get any Aussie up there and mumble through 90% of the words cause most people can never remember it ;)
I was waiting for it.... an aussie proudly singing 1 verse n chorus and then finished off with a rousing Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!!
@Håkon "Girt by sea! Wait a minute... Girt? The fark is girt?"
I remember in primary school we had some BS 2 verse version of the Australian anthem with something like a 3 minute intro and outro with kookaburras and didgeridoos and the like. Took about 15 minutes at every single assembly twice a week. By the time I got from prep to grade 6, it no longer had the intro or outro, the second verse, they sped it up and we only sang it once a month at the all school assembly. Somehow Americans do their pledge of allegiance nonsense every day and don't even blink at how absurd that is.
We have an anthem?
@everyonelovesdee I feel like the Irish National Anthem was specifically made to be singable blind drunk. like in the board room a Music major put forward a anthem, and the chair man was like: 'Yer, but can ya sing it drunk?"
Nothing about Canadians?
Your from west belconnen
Omg sign this girl.
Yep. That's us English. Lest the young lady knew her national anthem. Try finding someone here who knows ours. Apart from the opening line.
It's the same in Ireland. Our anthem is in Irish and people belt out the first line, mumble through the rest and belt out the last line lol.
I know the 1st verse, but won't sing it because I'm an atheist & don't support the Monarchy
I never minded standing for the God Save the Queen, cuz it wasn't shoved down my throat for years. I think I've had to sing it no more than 5 times in my life.
We used to have to stand for O Canada (English and French, sometimes) and God Save the Queen. As a kid, it felt like forever.
It’s cause in America they make us listen to/sing the national anthem every morning at school. They play it at every sporting event you go to. You’d be hard pressed to find an American who doesn’t know it lol
Queens jubilee was in 2002 - things might have changed 😂😂😂😂
2002 was her golden (50 year) jubilee. 2012 was her diamond (60 year) jubilee. And in 2012 they marked the occasion with (among other things) a parade of boats along the Thames in lashing rain.
3:29
I've never heard the second half of their anthem and I straight up thought they started singing away in a manger
It gets racist after "home of the brave" so we stop there most times especially for sporting events or whenever we don't want to bore people to death
@Lewis Dye Maybe that's generational. GenXer, I know it, no idea why.
Almost no Americans have heard the second verse, and most of us don't even know there is a third. Programming and indoctrination fail.
They dont stand for the anthem?
Same
So it's not ok to mock the way people talk, but it is OK to mock the way people sign??
I love the American National anthem Just one Cornetto give it to me... Nope that's not it, is it?
spinster's minge
Say what you will about other professions, but 2020 really has been the Renaissance for the deaf and hearing impaired sign language interpreter
That lady was good! A whole standup in herself!
Wow 💋💋
Do all americans know the national anthem? I asked around and very few people my age know our national anthem (I'm an English teenager)
Brits don't have to pledge allegiance to the flag every day in school, nor do they fly flags at home. Not so proud of their country that they learn the National Anthem. Greetings from Norway! WE fly the flag, sing the NA at primary school...
@Knight Icarus Thanks for telling me. If your interested in the UK it is sung at sport events but I find that the only teens who know it only know it from Scouts and singing it at parades
@Isabelle Nevill Not taught, per se, but it is performed at literally every sporting event, usually by a solo singer if it's televised. It would be odd for a teenager to not be able to sing along with it, but in my experience it's surprisingly common to not know all the words to the first (and functionally only) verse. It isn't something we see written out very often, so it's almost a completely oral tradition for most people. The language is a bit archaic, and since people grow up hearing the words, they sort of decide as children what they think they've heard, and it just doesn't occur to them to confirm the lyrics later on.
@Knight Icarus Thanks, I was wondering is it taught to children? Would it be weird for a teenager to not know the national anthem?
We hear it a lot. Too much in my opinion, but that's not a popular one. Adam misses a few words, but so do many who try to sing it here. "Perilous night" should be "perilous fight" for example, and I've heard people applauded for "oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet way" - instead of "wave," which actually makes sense. Like in a lot of things, Americans try to make each performance distinctly individual, perhaps at the expense of making it good, and since most aren't trained that price usually gets paid (in fairness the anthem isn't easy to sing). Which explains why so many get the words wrong - they prioritize feeling over knowledge, and trying over succeeding.
Not funny. At all.
I love comedy shows with signers. It's like having a second performer!
🦶🗣🦶🤮🤢👱♂️🤮
This reaffirms my preconceived notion that Australia is just southern-hemisphere Canada.
Bottom line NOBODY wants to be USA And they think every one loves them 🤣🤣🤣
@Lesha Not even close. Australia has far more in common with Canada So that would make NZ, the little island off the East coast . Ireland, both have funny accents 🤣
Lol, close but no cigar. Australia is Southern Hemisphere USA, New Zeland is Canada.
@David Read And that's why we have the Winter Olympics. With Stephen Bradbury retired, your chances for gold medals are greatly reduced.
@Humphrey McDucclefutchit That's not choice bro We thought you guys across the ditch were our friends ☹
He changed signers
@Rowynne Crowley Different from the last one of his shows I saw. That one was in Australia. I don't know where this show was.
You mean mid show, or between shows? Cuz he would need a different interpreter for each country he went to.
i am not mad about this
Wake Up America - you're being conned by the two most corrupt, power-hungry and incompetent political parties in History - Yes, Trump is a threat to America's National Security and our future as an Independent nation of citizens controlling the actions of its government - which I have been accurately warning you about since the day Trump declared his candidacy in 2015 -- and I have been Accurately warning you about Biden and Harris since the day they declared their candidacies .. Biden and Harris have been corrupt and criminal their entire political careers .. Trump is #VietnamWar #DraftDodger and Biden is also a #VietnamWar #DraftDodger .. Trump is racist towards Blacks and Mexicans, his father was racist towards Blacks and Mexicans - and Biden WE KNOW has been racist towards Blacks since 1972 when - as a Senator - he fully defended the racist policies of #Segregation, #Incarceration and opposition to school busing .. Trump has raped and sexually abused women and Biden has raped and sexually abused women .. Trump has raped underage children and Biden has raped underage children .. Trump and Biden have both sold themselves to Foreign Influence - Trump to Russia and Ukraine and Biden to China and Ukraine - that is a JAILABLE violation of our Constitution, our Federal Election Laws and our National Security -- Trump and Biden are BOTH #TRAITORS to the People and to the United States of America .. ~ Wake Up, America - You're being blindsided by the #Propaganda of the Democratic and Conservative Parties ~ Vote #BradHartliep 46th #President of the United States of America. Brad has been actively protecting the Rights of Women, Children, LGBTQ, Native Americans, Mexican Americans, Mexican Nationals, Latinos, Blacks and Asians for 42 years - #LaunchAmericaForward - And Give America Back To The People ..
If anything, this video shows that sign language can be a welcome and entertaining addition to any show - would also largely increase accessibility for the HOH
Agreed
@Rowynne Crowley british, australian and new zealand sign language are all similar!
Also also, it brings sign language into the mainstream, and maybe more people will be inspired to learn it even if they don't know any deaf people. Of course that only works if the translator is using your country's sign language. Cuz unlike spoken languages that would be close enough between two countries, like UK and US, for example, in sign language, it's completely different. American and British Sign Language are completely different. And I imagine Australian Sign is different still.
when you're outraged by other people's racism but you forgot to leave yours at home. i can't get over what I just heard 😱
that is how u all walk lol looking around at the sky
Adam: the Japanese have the trouble with Ls. Each Asian language comes with its own English language challenge. They're not interchangeable.
That's because Japanese doesn't have an "r", not in the way we know it. It's Romanised (written in English script) as 'R' and substitutes 'L', but it's actually a "voiced alveolar tap" - the tip of the tongue hits the alveolar ridge, just behind the teeth. The lip doesn't touch the teeth at all, either. Very different to the non-rhotic and rhotic r we enjoy in Britain.
Don´t see white people in Nigeria .
wrong words adam))
